The Point to Point and Country Fair at Dowth is now firmly established as a “must attend” date in the calendar.

Come and explore a spine-tingelling exhibition of Medieval life at the Trim Visitor Center located in the shadow of the great ruined castle.

See the weaponry and equipment used by Norman Knights who lived in Trim 800 years ago.


We’re celebrating Oktoberfest once again at The Lime Kiln Gastropub and we’re fit to burst with excitement. The Dovecote will be transformed into a Bavarian beer house with German food and steins of cold beer.

Pick your own pumpkin straight from Ireland's largest and best known pumpkin patch. make your way through our magical maze before picking your pumpkin from the thousands of pumpkins of lots of different varieties!

The Celts believed that Samhain was a time of transition, when the veil between our world and the next came down, and the spirits of all who had died since the last Oíche Shamhna (Night of Samhain) moved on to the next life.

Ghosts and ghouls have made their way into the kitchen and headed straight for our delicious Afternoon Tea! They have replaced our traditional treats with their own spooky fare!

Tuesday 29th – Friday 1st November, 1-6pm

Learn about the origins of Halloween in Irish prehistory. This event includes a discussion of pre Celtic myth and legend followed by a guided meditation on Samhain.

This is a two hour guided walking tour of Tara, including some history and archaeology; focusing mainly on myths and legends and connecting with the land through nature, the elements and the archetypal energies of the Tuatha Dé Danann.
