The Railway Preservation Society of Ireland are running "Halloween Specials" steam, train excursions on Saturday October 26th.
The ghost trains will run from Drogheda to Dundalk and Skerries and children and adults are being encouraged to get into the Halloween spirit by wearing spooky costumes. There’ll be prizes for the best fancy dress.
The first train goes to Dundalk, giving people the experience of crossing the Boyne Viaduct, departing McBride Station Drogheda at 12.20 pm and arriving back at 2.01 pm.
The train for Skerries departs at 2.50 pm and arrives back at 4.25 pm.
Tickets cost €14 for adults and €8 for under 16's and are available from Drogheda Tourist Office, in the Tholsel, West Street, which is open Monday to Friday 9 am - 5 pm. Tickets also on Eventbrite.
Under 2's go free if seated on their parents’ laps.
These steam train excursions are very popular and the tickets sell out fast on a first come first served basis.
