Mythology of Trees Workshop offers an immersive experience focusing on Ireland’s native trees and their connections to Samhain traditions.
Participants start with a guided walk at Púca Festival Harvest Market, where woodturner Damien shares the folklore of trees like Ash, Beech, Crab Apple, and Hazel, known for their associations with healing and protection.
Attendees will explore the ancient Ogham alphabet and identify their “spirit tree.”
The workshop also features a live woodturning demonstration, showcasing traditional craftsmanship in shaping timber.

Roaming the darkness like a shadowy spectre, the shape-shifting spirit of Púca comes alive! Changing the fortunes of all who cross her path as she transforms the night into a colourful playground of hallowed celebration.
Through the spectacular nights at Púca Festival, we salute the Halloween spirits through folklore, food, myth and music reopening the pathways of reflection and celebration carved by travellers over 2,000 years ago, and lighting up the night sky with awe-inspiring and unearthly illuminations.

Púca Festival Hubs
This year’s festival hubs are Athboy and Trim, both steeped in Samhain legend and tradition.
While Trim and Athboy are serviced by a strong public transport network, a number of extra services will be added to bring visitors from Dublin, Drogheda, Navan, Mullingar and Kells, in addition to a regular bus running between Trim and Athboy.
